- Answer I believe the night light over the range is LED . The control panel is not backlit. In regards to the sound, I could only compare with my previous one. It’s much quieter! Hope this helps..

- Answer I needs a cabinet or other upper frame. There is a wall bracket mounted along the lower back edge and uses two fixed position bolts down from the top about 5 inched back from the front edge.

- Answer The vent is not required every time you use the microwave. (I have never had one that actually came on automatically in the 7-8 I have owned in my life) The purpose of the vent is to act like a range hood vent since these are installed in lieu of a traditional range hood to vent the smoke from range top cooking. The vent does not have anything to do with the microwave cooking function.
