• The Maximum cabinet depth is 13" so 12" should be fine. • Top cabinets are standard at 12 inches deep. The standard cabinet size above the microwave is 30 inches wide. Use the templates provided and you should be OK. Regards.

• Yes, but the microwave will extend an extra 3 inches. To compensate for extra space, our cabinets were modified by removing doors above microwave and installing a faux hood front with double doors. This took up extra inches above microwave.
