  • QuestionOwners with Pet Hair- Does this unit handle Pet Hair? I've read complaints that the lint trap seems to leave pet hair in the drum. And that it requires extra manual hair removal after each load. Can anyone with Pets - especially hairy ones let us know?

    Asked by JSBbbby.

    • Answer Hello there, thank you for your question about the WM6998HBA washer. This unit is equipped with advanced washing cycles and features like TurboWash and Allergiene, which are designed to help tackle pet hair effectively. However, due to the nature of pet hair, some may still remain in the drum after a cycle, and additional cleaning of the drum and lint filter may be necessary after each load to ensure the best performance. • QuestionThis is the condenser coils for the heat pump? This seems to be a lot of build up after 1 month of use. Im not sure if something is wrong with my washer combo. The lint trap is cleaned out every cycle. Shouldnt it all be going into the lint trap?

    Asked by TikTechTek.

    • Answer I reached out to lg support via facebook. They sent me the AAA76553280 part for both of my units free of charge. That part is a game changer. It’s easy to install and my coil fins are totally clean after 3 months of use. Highly recommend getting this part!

  • QuestionKeepFresh and Fresh Care are both able to be independently toggled so they must perform different functions. The way I understand it Fresh Care will tumble periodically if you don’t get your clothes right away. What is KeepFresh? It’s not in the manual.

    Asked by KeepFresh.

    • Answer Hello there, thank you for your question about the WM6998HBA washing machine. You are correct that Fresh Care helps keep clothes fresh by tumbling them periodically after the wash cycle if they're not removed immediately. On the other hand, the KeepFresh feature is designed to maintain optimal moisture levels in the drum, helping to prevent odors and wrinkles by keeping the clothes slightly damp. While it’s not extensively covered in the manual, its purpose is to enhance garment care between cycles. If you have any more questions or need further clarification, please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport, and we’ll be happy to assist you further. • QuestionIs there a Steam only cycle - steams the clothes and drys them, but doesn't wash them? If not, why? will you add via update? The best feature on your dryers is steam fresh - Why would you not have that on this machine since the water is already hooked up

    Asked by steam2.

    • Answer Hello, steam2. The dryer for the ENERGY STAR® Certified LG Ventless Washer/Dryer Combo LG WashCombo™ All-in-One 5.0 cu. Ft. Mega Capacity with Inverter HeatPump™ Technology and Direct Drive Motor, Model # WM6998HBA uses "Inverter HeatPump™ Technology". It does not have steam cycles as a result. Unlike a conventional electric or gas dryer that draws in cool air from your home and expels warm, moist air through a vent, a heat pump dryer circulates warm air within a self-contained system, eliminating the need for an exhaust vent. The dryer uses heat pump technology to extract moisture from your clothes. Rather than generating heat with a gas burner or electric coils, a heat pump moves thermal energy from one area to another using a refrigerant and a condenser—like an air conditioner in reverse. Heat pump clothes dryers deliver both ventless convenience and energy efficiency. The dryer warms cools, and condenses the same air within a self-contained system. Like an air-source heat pump, a heat pump dryer contains a closed loop of refrigerant lines and two sets of coils—an evaporator (cold) and a condenser (hot). Condenser coils heat the air sending hot, dry air through the drum. Warm, moist air exits the drum, and it passes over the evaporator coils to cool the air and extract the moisture. The moisture drains away. The cycle begins again with the condenser coils heating the air sending hot, dry air through the drum, repeating the process...^Ivan

  • QuestionWhy do I have lint all over my door and also lint dosen’t go in the container stays on outside of it

    Asked by Jc.

    • Answer Lint collecting on the door seal of the ENERGY STAR® Most Efficient / ENERGY STAR Certified LG Ventless Washer/Dryer Combo LG WashCombo™ All-in-One 5.0 cu. ft. Mega Capacity with Inverter HeatPump™ Technology and Direct Drive Motor, Model # WM6998HVA, Lint collecting on the door seal of a washer/dryer combo rather than the filter is often caused by a poor door seal, excessive detergent buildup, or a partially blocked ventilation system. To resolve this, ensure the filter is fully seated, clean the rubber gasket with a damp cloth, run a cleaning cycle, and check for vent blockage. Excessive residue from detergent and fabric softener buildup on the rubber gasket can cause lint to stick to it instead of being trapped in the filter. Wipe the gasket with a damp cloth, using a toothbrush to clean tight spots. If the main lint screen is dirty or the vent pipe is blocked, air cannot flow properly, causing lint to settle on the door. Clean the lint screen after every load. The lint filter must be fully pushed in, and check to make sure there are no gaps where lint can escape...^Ivan.

  • QuestionOur unit stopped draining properly after 9 months of normal use. We frequently cleaned the lint trap, the coil condenser, and the lint catch at the bottom of the unit. LG sent us a replacement detergent part and that did not change anything.

    Asked by Monet27.

    • Answer Hello there. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand that your WM6998HBA WashCombo is not draining properly. We appreciate you taking the initiative to perform maintenance on the lint trap and coil condenser. Since you've already checked the accessible areas, we recommend confirming the condition of the drain hose. Please ensure that the drain hose is not kinked, twisted, or installed too high, as this can easily restrict the water flow. The height of the drain hose should not exceed 6 cm from the floor to allow for smooth drainage.
