“When will the new LG Twin Wash unit be in stores? Shop Smart magazine by Consumer Reports shows a new miniwasher by LG. It fits under the WM8500HVA and is built into the drawer of the pedestal. Is the 8500 different than the 8000 or will either work with the new miniwasher?”

Any LG front loading washer made after 2009 will be compatible with the 1 cu. ft. sidekick ("twin wash" unit). They will be in most stores, hopefully by the beginning of December. It comes in the 29 in and the 27 in depending on the size of the unit you want to pair it with, in either graphite or white. It is essentially a mini washer disguised as a pedestal.

The pedestal raises the machine a few inches off the ground without adding to its width or depth.
