No insults intended in this response. It's not the TV. It's either the signal sent to the TV or the settings the end user is choosing. Or both. This TV, like all modern HD LD sets, will have various ASPECT RATIO settings. Choosing the appropriate aspect ration will give normal sized/shaped images. Choosing the wrong aspect ratio will give oddly proportioned people. Most importantly, if you actually feed HD signals and not upscaled SD signals, this should all happen automatically. Sadly, cable providers make it too easy for customers to send the wrong type of signal to their TV. If you're paying for HD TV channels, you should be viewing the HD channels. Time to find a tech savvy neighbor to come over and help.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Is your son in law's TV the LG - 55" Class (54.6" Diag.) - LED - 1080p - Smart - HDTV Model # 55LF6100 or is it the 60" as you are inquiring about. If the people in the picture look squashed then the TV is on the wrong aspect ratio and that would need to be changed to the 16:9 Aspect ratio. Whcih 60" LG TV does he have so we can better advise you on how to set it correctly...^IFV
