• The volume buttons are on the side of the remote. It even has a mute button. As far as the channels once you set up the TV with either cable or antenna the cross button in the middle of the remote allows you to change channels. It's very easy.

• The volume controls are on the side of the remote, so you can control the TV volume with those. The channel control for your cable service would need to be via the remote for the cable set top box.

• The volume up, down and mute buttons are on the side of the remote. Note that they may work with the TV, but they DO NOT work with an LG soundbar.
