Dryers dry clothes by a tumbling action where items will have a tendency to roll as the drum turns. If you have too many items loaded in the drum, items on the outside are pressed up against the inside of the tub which slows them down while clothes on the inner part continue to tumble at a faster speed which cause the items to twist and ball up...^IFV
