A:AnswerI had the same question - instructions we not very clear on the purpose of it. I did some research and it is called a ferrite core. What I found was that you put it on the electrical cord and it can help stop static and other interference to create a cleaner sound.
A:AnswerDepending on which system you are using, let’s say for example an SK9Y which is a 5.1.2 system, you will not hear sound from the speakers if the audio format is 5.1. For these to work you must use 7.1, or Dolby Atmos. If you are using a 2.1 or 3.1 sound bar, these will work as normal surround speakers. The content must be able to output in 7.1 or Atmos, otherwise you will hear nothing. The same goes for all 7.1 systems.
A:AnswerYes the base is a wireless receiver (bluetooth) that can be setup a good distance away from the sound bar. There are wires that do connect the receiver to the two rear speakers, this way there are no wires from the sound bar to the back of the room to the receiver, works out very nice.
A:AnswerYes... anything with the Y behind the number will work
When pairing with an LG TV ....make sure to go into settings and connect the sound bar through the LG Device connect under sound bar...or else you will get little to no sound through the rear surround speakers.
A:AnswerHi Teri. Page 16 of your owner's manual for the LG SKC9 5.1.2 Channel High Resolution Audio Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos confirms that it is compatible with the LG SPK8-S 2.0 Channel Sound Bar Wireless Rear Speaker Kit...^IFV
A:AnswerThe way i was explained at the store, your source provides the Dolby Atmos sound, like a 4k based player or streaming service or device, more likely at this point you get the best results from 4k movies with Atmos sound provided.
A:AnswerIf you want to you can but I don’t have a problem with the wire that was supplied. The back of both speaker and satellite do not have the wire built in so you can use any brand of wire you prefer.
A:AnswerWhile you can put Banana plugs on the speaker wires, you will not be able to fit them into the alligator connectors on the backs of the speakers. A:AnswerThe LG - 2.1-Channel Hi-Res Soundbar System with Wireless Subwoofer and Digital Amplifier - Black, Model # SJ4Y-S is compatible with the LG 2.0 ch Sound Bar Wireless Rear Speaker Kit, Model # SPJ4-S. ^CP
A:AnswerI would say no. Tech support was very specific in saying that they only work with: SK-10Y, 9Y, 8Y, 6Y, and 5Y sound bars. Bluetooth firmware not compatible with others, so won’t connect.
A:AnswerYes, you can have it away from the sound bar. However, all the pieces of the rear speaker system must stay close. Due to it being a speaker wired system. Disappointing that it wasn’t wireless. I would not have purchased had I known it was wired. However, if you don’t mind the wires. Then, it should be just fine for you.
I hope this helps.
A:AnswerI didn't measure them myself, but they are quite long. I'd say 15 to 20 feet. In any case, they are just normal speaker wires, so you could buy some more and make them as long as you want.
A:AnswerThe 'wireless' speakers use a receiver unit to connect to the sound bar or av component stsyem.
Both rear channel speakers are wired to the rceiver.
The wires are included.
