    • Answer The LG Blu-ray Disc™ Player with Streaming Services, Model # BP175 used to have the classic Hulu app preinstalled on it but regrettably, Hulu ended their support for the classic app beginning August 2019 on certain Blu-ray Players due to the fact that the app will no longer be supported by Hulu on those models. When their service is deprecated on a device, the Hulu app may no longer allows you to sign in or it may disappear altogether. In case the app does open, it may only display an on-screen alert similar to the messaging "Your user session has expired."...^IFV

The USB port is an input and when you plug a USB device into the port on the LG Blu-ray Disc™ Player with Streaming Services, Model # BP175 you can playback Video, audio and photo files stored on the USB device.     • Answer Hulu announced on Jun 6, 2019 that they would stop supporting DVD Players and Blu-ray Players by the end of August and pulled support for the LG - Streaming Audio Blu-ray Player, Model # BP175 in July and August. This was due to their roll out of a new app that the BP175 did not meet the minimum requirements for it to support the app...^IFV

  • QuestionWill it play all USB media?

    • Answer There is a listing of the media formats that will work in the manual that you can find on the LG site. I have only attempted to play MP4 files. As for the USB device, it has to be formatted in NTFS or FAT32 to work. I have only attempted to use a 1 TB external. I had to reformat it to NTFS to get it to work. It was also USB 3.0, but the unit allowed me to select USB 2.0 which allowed the unit to read the drive. For some reason, the unit created a folder named BUBA that appears to be blank (not sure why).

    • Answer No. I was disappointed as you are limited to a single HDMI output. My TV was older , had a HDMI input , but was not compatible with the DVR HDMI output.....not sure why. My original DVR, which went caput and was a more expensive unit, had been hooked up with with the RCA cables. I might have had the same issue with the HDMI input on the TV but it was to long ago to remember. Rather than send the 195 back , I hooked it to another tv using the HDMI to HDMI and it worked fine. Hope this helps.

  • QuestionI read that you need to have a streaming device such as a Roku or amazon fire stick in order to stream to a NON smart tv. Is this true? Can I just use an Ethernet cable to connect from Blu-ray player to my internet and be connected to stream content?

    • Answer The BP175 can connect to your router via an ethernet cable. It does not require another streaming device be connected to the TV unless you are wanting applications not on the BP175 that those streaming devices offer. ^CP

    • Answer We are just using to play BluRay disks, connected to TV with HDMI cable. Works well. The unit has more capabilities that we have not tried but that's not what we need at this time, It is not currently connected to WIFI or LAN.
