QuestionHave a Zmodo camera than runs on wifi, when the camera is in the window and the curtains are pulled it goes off line. Will this get the camera working with the curtains pulled?

- Answer bobbypaul, This unit should really help with that by giving you an extension of both 2.4 & 5 GHz signals from your router so that it is stronger closer to your camera. This unit likes a certain distance from the router so place it the way it wants from the router and not just half way (that may be the perfect place, but work with the setup to find the best distance). - Answer Hi, Howie. You may need to set up the Linksys RE6500 with the new router settings. To reset the unit, press the Reset button for 5 seconds or until the light starts to blink white. - Answer Unplug old Extender,Plug new one in and have Router and Extender close to each other as possible.Push blue button on rear of extender and then button on router and the two should pair up on their own.LET THEM BOTH FINISH THE PAIRING BEFORE YOU TOUCH EITHER ONE.2 MINUTES IS USUALLY PLENTY TIME.

QuestionAbout how many square feet or range in an open home will this extender cover? I have a 2100sf log home and my service is downstairs. I would like to have the same wifi strength upstairs (which is all open with no walls).

- Answer Not sure, but I have an older home with some brick interior walls and it works great. I was able to place the extender about midway between the router and my back bedroom where I like to use Roku. I was skeptical that it would work. Salesman told me I could return it as long as it was within two weeks. Worth a try.

- Answer Not without turning off the unit. I would suggest using a piece of black plastic electrical tape over the light. You can always remove the tape if need be.

- Answer The setup in inside the router. Connect to the router on wifi and do quick setup or connect over ethernet with supplied cable and change settings manually. No app needed.

- Answer Install was easy. You just plug into wall outlet. Follow simple instructions. You may have to move the unit around a bit to get the best reception between your router and where you need to use the WiFi. I just use mine to get better WiFi in a bedroom for using an iPad. So after installation I just had to go to iPad settings and choose that for my preferred router. I am not “techie” enough to know how this will work for your needs.

- Answer Yes you can do that. You can have it connect directly to the extender or if it's still in range of the main router you can connect it to that by Wi-Fi
