QuestionOk, bought this router online and oddly got a V1.1. Of course I am looking for V2 for the quad-core and extra memory. Anyone know where you can get a V2? On the V1.1 box it indicates a 1.4 Dual Core, I assume if it was a V2 it would indicate a 1.8 Quad.

- Answer You're correct. The version everyone is selling is V1. I did purchase version 1 (would've preferred v2) and I must say I have been extremely impressed with the performance of this router. Pros Great 5Ghz range No lag or slow down with many users connected Have not had to reboot to clear any hang ups Others just want to keep it short Cons It is a huge router. But well designed and ventilated If you're in an immediate need for a router, this is the one to go with. Even with the Dual Core and lower memory, you will be impressed. I kind of compare it to iPhone vs. Samsung. The specs may not be completely up to par, but don't let it fool you as the performance shines above the rest.

QuestionThinking about purchasing this router after bad experience with the WRT3200ACM. I constantly had to reboot it because the internet speed would decrease tremendously & several electronics wouldn't be able to connect after awhile. Anyone have these issues?

- Answer My old NETGEAR would drop out on a regular basis...from my cable company internet/wifi service. This one does not.

QuestionDoes it have the classic Linksys browser interface? (I currently have an old EA4200, it has the same browser interface as my original router - a very old WRT. Anything else would be a deal breaker.)

- Answer The EA9500 uses Linksys' SmartWIFI interface (you can disable the Linksys account option if desired), which is different from the interface on my WRT350. The settings pages are not that much different from the WRT interface, so it may be close enough for you. I recommend taking a peek at the user guide which contains some screen shots (http://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=202459)

QuestionWhat would be a good modem to go with this? Will any modem work with this AC5400 router and with Charter Spectrum?

- Answer I use this router with charter spectrum modem (internet and phone only...no television service with charter). I have had no problems. Router connects to Directv and wireless bluray player just fine.

QuestionThank you Linksys and HomenetworkAdministrator for your replies. I am getting 222 and 17 on their speed test at router and at my table with thier wired echo I get 33 and 17 were I am at 99% of time. With this and a new modem can I get better?

QuestionFirst, I am not a techie. My question is fairly simple. We have Verizon/Frontier internet. I'm assuming that this router needs to be installed at the same location as my Verizon/Frontier modem (not centrally located) via an ethernet cable? Thx!

- Answer Centrally located using an ethernet cable is perfectly acceptable. Best location for most effective coverage for your situation is what I would recommend.

- Answer It does support Verizon, but the just keep in mind that this is not the modem. You still have to have the Modem in order to receive the connection from Verizon. The router simply distributes the signal that you get from them so make sure that you have a modem as well.

- Answer Hi. The primary method for setting up the Linksys EA9500 router is using your computer. But, you can set up the router using your mobile device through the Linksys app.

QuestionI have Fios, do I need to purchase anything other than this Router to connect and make it work when I disconnect my Fios router which I would consider GARBAGE

- Answer I don’t know for sure as I never used FIOS. I would assume the FIOS internet connection appliance would have a port to connect a category 5 lan wire to/from router internet port. Then you use the App to setup the router. Should be very easy. We have spectrum cable and our router is connected to the provided modem appliance with a lan cable. I can tell you the EA9500 so far is working great. It’s not the first Linksys router we owned so the setup was very easy for me. I use the same network name and password so all the devices reconnect without resetting them. We have about 20 devices connected on our network.

QuestionIs this Linksys EA9500 the obsolete 2016 version 1.1 with the slow processor or the new Linksys EA9500 2018 version 2? The specs here indicate the old 2016 model. Do you carry the current model?
