A:Answer Most home smart devices will primarily or only work with 2.4 GHz signals. With multi-band routers, you just need to pair and remember the device only to the 2.4 GHz broadcast, making it unrecognizable to the 5Ghz network. By getting this router, it is not going to improve the capabilities of smart devices being able to be better paired to the 5Ghz network. You can do this through your smart apps during the initial setup to select the non-5G broadcast, or disable SSID on the 5G and press the WPS button to pair devices to the 2.4GHz band.
In the network settings of the router you can setup prioritization of devices and strength of the network signal per band.
