If the person sending you a text is listed in your Contacts then yes, their name appears with the message. If they aren’t in Contacts then the sender of the message comes up as ‘Unknown.’ For an email it probably shows who the sender is. We haven’t really used the email yet on the Jitterbug Smart2 (other than to set it up), but we have sent and received texts and that is to what this answer pertains.

For email, if you have the contact’s name listed in your gmail account with the email address, you will see the name on the screen.

But when I receive a text message & open it, the senders name does show up on the screen & it's super easy to respond to. Love the text messaging - so easy to use!
