A:AnswerHope this helps. Thanks first for the pictures. Newer AVR's like this one put out a good bit of heat. Just like a car in a Texas summer you need air circulation to keep it cool. From your pictures it shows your unit against the bookcase wall on the right side which minimizes air circulation. Also I can see the front feet of the unit hanging off the front of the shelf. This puts the bottom of the unit literally on the shelf at that point which greatly reduces the space under the unit for airflow. This blocks air from circulating underneath the unit. The heat is not disipated but rather trapped in the corner of the bookcase. Try putting your AVR on a flat surface with all four feet on a shelf with plenty of air circulation. You may even want to put a fan nearby. Also make sure nothing is ever on top of the unit. My AVR has air circulation on all four sides and srill gets pretty warm on the top. If all of this fails try contacting Marantz or the store where you bought it. Good Luck!
A:AnswerYes, if you have free hight channels, you can assign them to front LR speakers. In the setup menu there is a bi-amp section, there it'll ask which channels you wish to use.
A:Answer9.1 using this unit as a pre-amp
11.1 using another power amp
I suggest getting the definitive technology tower speakers for the extra Atmos speakers
A:AnswerEach zone can be assigned in the 'speaker configuration' section of the setup menu. Just remember for every speaker added takes watts away from the rest. It's best to use the preouts to an external amplifier, for the LCR speakers, and let the AVR power the surround channels.
