• Yes if you want to use Microsoft's office suite. I would recommend Google docs as a better alternative if you buy this device.

• You'll have to buy separated. It doesn't come with Office.

• I believe it is offered for trial version on the tablet but then you must go out and buy it.

• The Surface Pro 3 only comes with a 30 day trial... so you will need to purchase Microsoft Office of some sort after the 30 day trial. But I see that there are packages the you can buy that does include Office at a discounted price.
