- Answer This is a loop antenna. That means that it uses the magnetic field and not the electric field like a whip or "regular" TV antenna (Yagi or LPA) So it needs to be edge on to the transmitting antenna. Think of a sideways doughnut laying on a table with the transmitting antenna sticking up through the middle of the hole. Now if you take a knife and make a vertical cut from the center to the outside. Place this antenna in that slot vertically so the two edges touch the two cut ends of the doughnut. That's how you orient this antenna. The maximum magnetic field goes through the center of this antenna, So basically the edge (any of the 2 vertical edges) lines up vertically with the transmitting antenna, while the other 2 (horizontal edges) points to the transmitting antenna.

- Answer I’m not sure about that. I was told local channels are transmitted from Mchenry( 10 miles north of me). Fox 25 has interference with reception. (16 miles SSW of me)

QuestionDuring windy or stormy weather we sometimes lose the signal. will this antenna stop that from happening? we receive all 38 channels in the 54301 zip code now.

- Answer Hi kitkat! Thank you for your question. All locations and terrains are different, and signal reception varies in each location. You really will not know until you try a different antenna than the one you have. You may experience some loss of signal depending on where you have your antenna mounted. We always recommend the higher the better with any antenna you install. Also, remember to re-scan for channels each time the antenna is moved. Thank you.

QuestionIf this has a USB input option for connection can it be used on a Dish Hopper then integrated into the guide similar to how the Dish OTA USB to Coaxial adapter works?

- Answer Hi Teride, you will need to contact Dish to see if their Hopper is compatible with an antenna. However, the USB that is included with this antenna is used to power the detachable Jolt Amplifier that is also included, not the antenna itself. Thank you for your question.

- Answer I would definitely look for something else. This antenna seems like its meant for a upper floor of a home with little to no ubstructions around.

- Answer No this Antenna needs to be up as high as it can go on a wall closest to a window. There are sticky back tabs and stick pins for wall mount.

- Answer I'm 27 miles from New Orleans (where the broadcasters are located) and I get 41 channels. There are chemical plants with microwave transmitters and radio transmitters in the path of my reception, so I had to put the antenna on an outer wall. I get great pictures with this antenna.
