A:AnswerWhen you first purchase this item it does come with a charge in it. However, you do have to charge it after you use it again. The best thing is after you charge your phone as soon as you can plug the charger into the wall and then plug your phone into the charger. This makes the phone charge faster and when you're done it's just a little bit more to charge the charger which you always want to keep charged so you have it ready to go whenever you go out!
