A:Answer I am a Comcast/Xfinity customer and recently bought this item. It works to provide VOICE (i.e. telephone service in the house) and can also provide a direct internet connection to a desktop PC (this is what I do) or a laptop with an Ethernet port. It does not have wi-fi broadcasting capability, so you would need to add a separate device (i.e. wireless wifi router) that connects to this item through the Ethernet port. There is only one Ethernet port with this item, so you can't direct connect to the internet and also add the wifi router for additional wireless capability, you would have to choose one or the other. I have a second modem in the house that I have a wifi router connected to for wireless internet connectivity.
