A:AnswerThis NetGear AC Range work (connected) through my WiFi. Best of my knowledge it should work with other router. It works great for any dead zone around my house where I could not get any internet. I would recommend this for the price.
A:AnswerHi Regina... the documentation says to place the extender between your router and your desired work location, so on the first floor sounds logical. I'm very impressed with mine. It seems like the signal from the extender is much greater than what my router was putting out. I pretty much have coverage over my entire 1/2 acre lot now.
A:AnswerIf I remember correctly, the Extender should be selected while trying to connect to the router to program it as an extender. I had to rely on Youtube to make sure I was doing it correctly.
A:AnswerIt might help get the signal to your console. The main issue is your slow internet service and the fact that your router is in the basement. I would check with your internet provider to see how many Mbps you are getting and if the router has WiFi capabilities, I would move it out of the basement and to the first floor close to a window. That allows the WiFi signal to have less interferences. Doing that and using the extender should help.
A:AnswerThere should be a port at the bottom of the extender for an Ethernet cable. There are instructions on how to do it wirelessly through a device and to use an Ethernet cable for set up.
