Q: QuestionDoes this work with AT&T DSL internet & the Linksys E2500 router? My 5 year old router needs to be replaced. I have an iMac and a Toshiba laptop, along with an E2500 Linksys wifi router. Will this modem work with this set up? Will I have to change the IP setting on my router?
Asked by Ameribrit.
- A:Answer @ Ameribrit, YES"- Hope you have found your connection process, just in case i have a identical set up and purchase, my wifi connection was completed by the following: be sure your modem is a DSL unit if you have a telphone jack/ethernet for wire connection thats it, not cable, next connect your Toshiba to you Netgear router directly with a ethernet cord/cat5 yellow cord, should be supplied with modem purchase, follow the connect instruction to connect set up with modem by typing netgear.com in your browser, this will open up the set up page in your modem for connection with your netgear, you will type in your connection info from the back of your Linksys Router and your internet provider, IP) i.e. telephone company name, what ever information thats required is available from your telephone company such as what type of system your ( internet provider IP) is giving you, exsample: mine is a DYNAMIC system..the modem will set its self to the corresponding connection parameters. next connect your (router Linksys) to your modom with the same wire as previously connected if not supplied.BE SURE to put the wire in the correct port separate from any auxiliary ports, this is your connection from modem to router for wifi signal, not the 4 extra connect ports for internet access of additional equip. Disconnect your Toshiba and search available wifi for the wifi NAME you choose during set up, log in will require the pass word located on the bottom or side of your modem ID Tag. JD.

Q: QuestionWhy is my internet light RED?This is my 2nd Netgear ADSL2 Modem. The first one always had 4 green lights. My new modem only has power & ADSL lights green. The internet light is always RED and the Ethernet light never comes on. But I am able to get on the internet. I don't understand it.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Not knowing if you are on a laptop or desktop. If you are on a desktop them your wifi is probably on and you are surfing from someone else's network, or from your phones network. If you have a desktop and it is equipped with wifi the same scenario is possible. If you are on a desktop that doesn't have wifi then the trouble is in the modem. If your are connected strictly to an Ethernet cord then this is the case.

Q: QuestionDoes this work with 50/5mbps internet speed?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer No, the ADSL2+ standard can only support speeds up to 24Mbps, I might suggest a modem from your ISP, then set it in bridge mode, and have a good router set up as DHCP.
