Q: Questionhow many DST adapters can be used in the house with the nighthawk router?If we have 3 upstairs rooms with week signal can the router handle 3 DST adapters to boost signal in each of the rooms?

• A:Answer Yes you can plug in a device with a LAN cable because it has one output. I don't think the speed will improve though. The speed is determined by many things, i.e. your bandwidth, ISP, the router you are using, etc. So consider these factors as well.a

Q: QuestionIs this Netgear DST compatible with the FIos router provided by Verizon? ( FIOS Gateway FIOS-G1100?) The sales rep at best buy said that it was but when I followed the instructions the DST did not pair even when using the DST's pin.

• A:Answer No, this will only work with the router it was designed to work with (Netgear R7300). The device uses your homes electrical wiring to transceive data. The router has to be able to inject the data into the electrical system. Imagine asking if you can buy tickets for a train that goes to a city where there are no train tracks connected. This is essentially what you are asking.

• A:Answer Nope, router MUST be plugged in direct to wall outlet, would be also required for the extender, as the router transmits to the extender via the home electrical wiring. They kinda mention that in the installation brochure, but, honestly, who reads that first anyway??? Works seamlessly when hooked up right, though!
