Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Nighthawk product is NOT a modem. You will need to rent or purchase a modem to connect from your internet supplier's signal at the wall, to a broadband LAN cable into the Nighthawk. It's the modem that may or may not be docsys 3.0.

The modem is what converts the signal that comes from your regular ISP's (coax, telephone line, fiber, etc) to a signal that can be sent down ethernet wire. Typically your wall jack (coax, phone line) is connected to your modem using an appropriate cable. Then your modem is connected to a wireless router with an ethernet cord. I have a SB6141 Surfboard that works really well... I like it.... if you're looking for a cable modem anyway. Should work with TWC, MediaCom, Charter, but doublecheck with ISP to make sure.
