The 320XR comes with two main cables: -A 12V power cable that plugs into your vehicle’s cigarette lighter/power socket to power the front camera -A dedicated rear-camera cable that connects the front unit to the rear camera module Everything you need to get both cameras up and running is included in the box. QuestionThe rear camera does not come on when the main unit is on. I have set the setting in the unit to the rear camera on setting and the cables have been run correctly. Is the unit defective or am I doing something wrong?

- Answer I found what was wrong. The rear camera plug and the extension wire go together with a specific notch. It is a small notch in the plug, but it has to go together exactly for the rear camera to activate.

QuestionIf i leave the dashcam plugged into the 12V port while my car is off, will it drain my car battery? Also, does this model record if someone were to hit my car while my car is off and parked?

If that's the case for your car, the dash cam won’t drain your battery, but it also won’t stay powered, so Parking Mode won’t activate. To enable Parking Mode safely, we recommend using a Nextbase Hardwire Kit. QuestionTo install this nextbase 320xr rear camera and monitor on our 2010 chey equinox, do we have to remove the current rear mirror that has onstar? I would rather not have to.

It’s designed mainly for emergency situations, so for regular use the camera does need to stay plugged in at all times to operate properly. - Answer Not sure of the question, but the rear camera is simply mounted with adhesive, the only challenge is running the wire to the front camera to power / connect it.
