Q: QuestionIf this camera is still running while the car is parked and turned off will the camera drain your cars battery? Will it drain it significantly?

The hardwire kit is designed to protect your car’s battery. It continuously monitors the vehicle’s voltage and will automatically cut power to the dash cam if the battery voltage drops to approximately 12.6V. This prevents the camera from draining the battery beyond a safe level. Q: QuestionHow long will the sd card capture footage while car is parked and turned off? if I park the car overnight or for shopping, will it activate if something moves the car? If yes, for how long will that capability last once car is powered off?

• A:Answer Hello Chris, When the car is parked and the engine is turned off, the camera can still record events if Parking Mode is enabled and the camera has power (for example, via a hardwire kit) In Parking Mode, the camera is in a low-power standby state and will automatically start recording when physical movement or impact is detected. Each triggered event is recorded in a 30-second clip. If no further movement is detected, the camera will stop recording. If additional movement or impacts occur, the camera will start a new 30-second recording for each event. So yes, if something moves or impacts the car while it’s parked, the camera will record the event, as long as it continues to receive power. -The Nextbase Reviews Team

Q: QuestionThe rear camera does not come on when the main unit is on. I have set the setting in the unit to the rear camera on setting and the cables have been run correctly. Is the unit defective or am I doing something wrong?

• A:Answer I found what was wrong. The rear camera plug and the extension wire go together with a specific notch. It is a small notch in the plug, but it has to go together exactly for the rear camera to activate.

Q: QuestionIf i leave the dashcam plugged into the 12V port while my car is off, will it drain my car battery? Also, does this model record if someone were to hit my car while my car is off and parked?
