For a Novice I would jump stright to the D7000. D3200 is designed for the beginner DSLR user. Since you already shoot in an Non-auto mode the D7000 is your clear choice. I do own both, the D7000 as my go-to main camera and the D3200 as a back up body. The only thing I see that the D5100 would offer is the swivel view screen, but then again that's a moving part that will probably break. Fairly user friendly when you buy the better "how-to" guides (several offered on Amazon) other than the supplied user manual. Your options will greatly depend on the amount of money you're willing to spend
