It depends. How much space does the case have? What is your psu rated for? What resolution/frame rate do you want? I run this card for a 1440p/144hz/1ms monitor and i hit 90 - 100 fps on ultra settings. Do you have a strong cpu? If you want 60fps at 1080p, then a 1070 or 1060 might be a better fit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it would work but it would be bottle necking the capabilities of the GTX 1080. I would recommend a 1060 or lower. Even if you upgraded the processor, the socket type in that computer will not allow a big enough processor for the GTX 1080 to work to its full capabilities. Make sense?

I have a Gigabyte 990FX-A motherboard and AMD FX-4100 processor and my CPU is severely bottlenecking my games compared to the card. The best you could upgrade to with that computer would be an FX-8350 which still probably wouldn't be much more of an upgrade. See here for your computer's current specs: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-ENVY-h8-Desktop-PC-series/5330773/model/5331403/document/c03639067/ I'd recommend either moving to an Intel CPU like an I5 or I7, meaning you'd need a new motherboard, or upgrade to one of the new AMD Ryzen processors, in which case you'd still need a new motherboard. Or you can try upgrading to the FX-8350 and see if that gives you enough power but I would doubt it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Probably, but that computer already has a gpu.
