- Answer This recorder does not offer the option to append or overwrite files. This option is only found in our Dictation recorders, like the DS-5000 and DS-2400.

- Answer You can record in any format available on the recorder, including PCM, MP3 and WMA.

- Answer The LP mode stands for Long Play. This offers a lower quality recording but a seriously extended recording time.

- Answer LP stands for Long Play. This is a lower quality recording but a seriously extended recording time.

Questionwhat is the difference between recording in "linear" vs "MP3" vs "WMA" vs "PCA"? How do these differ?Is the difference between these designations a matter of quality or are they just "different"? If a matter of quality, please rate them from best quality to worst so we can know how they compare - which is better? how much better?, etc.

- Answer The Linear PCM Wav file is not compressed like the MP3 so the quality will retain more detail. The benefit for using MP3 is that the quality is great considering the file size.

QuestionCan you rewind while recording?I work for attorneys who dictate everything. They are interrupted a lot. We need a digital recorder that they can rewind after they were interrupted to pick up where they left off. Or they need to rewind a recording and record over something. Which digital recorder does this? I don't need something that I can rewind while in playback mode. I need something that rewinds while in record mode.

- Answer These recorders do not offer this function. You need a Profession dictation recorder that offer the ability to append files.
