I just purchased my second digital recorder and while my first one was adequate, I wanted something more modern and with more memory. This little jewel fits the bill very nicely! I had actually tried another less expensive model, but returned it after one day because the sound quality was not what I expected. This one is much better and I was able to program it fairly quickly and install the software so that I then able to transfer my recording files to my computer. I was also able to transfer the files from my old recorder and I am very happy with my purchase!

I've been listening back to my recordings and they are great! Very user friendly, reasonably easy to figure out how to record and play back.

QuestionIs there a dictation correction feature?This feature basically allows you to overwrite the original recording by pressing record during playback at the section you want to change

- Answer This recorder does not offer the option to append or overwrite files. This option is only found in our Dictation recorders, like the DS-5000 and DS-2400.

Questionwhat is the difference between recording in "linear" vs "MP3" vs "WMA" vs "PCA"? How do these differ?Is the difference between these designations a matter of quality or are they just "different"? If a matter of quality, please rate them from best quality to worst so we can know how they compare - which is better? how much better?, etc.

- Answer The Linear PCM Wav file is not compressed like the MP3 so the quality will retain more detail. The benefit for using MP3 is that the quality is great considering the file size.
