It sounds like the Shield uses IR to at least some extent, so you should be good.

A:AnswerHello Nick unfortunately the way the Chromecast is designed you have to cast from a phone. Our Remotes would not work with it, as far as i'm aware there is no separate remote for Chromecast.

A:AnswerNo you are not doing anything wrong the the remote does not have a power button for the audio device only volume up and down. The only way to add one would be to learn from the original remote and replace one of the buttons
