“Compatible with Bose 901s? I have a nice pair of Bose 901 speakers and am curious as to whether or not i can use them with the TX-8160 as they require the use of a Bose equalizer. My old Onkyo receiver from the mid eighties had a tape loop monitor that allowed this and my newer TX-NR818 has pre-amp in/out which I believe would also allow the use of the 901s and their equalizer but I want to have a simple two channel stereo setup in this area of my home and the TX-8160 seems to be the one for me. It even appears capable (like my THX certified TX-NR818 !) of driving 4 ohm speakers which speaks volumes about the quality of Onkyo. Is this possible and if so, how? Either way, thank you for your input. If it cannot be done I may well still purchase this excellent receiver and use a pair of Klipsch speakers but I would prefer the Bose 901s,”
