Q: QuestionJust bought the NR676. Only connected Apple TV (the old one). When I play a movie, I noticed the volume of the unit has to be 60+ to get clear sound effect and hear the dialogue. Saw bloggers reporting similar issues. Any suggestions ?

• A:Answer I have the 350 watt perchannel. I think if you do the calibration with the microphone and put a little more space or undersimething when you fo it the volume will get higher. I had same problem and put mic underbed for calibration and it worked a little better. The other way may be to setup manually. My thoughts!!

• A:Answer I’m pretty sure they would, as I have upgraded my receiver three times now; had two Sony AV receivers and moved to this one, did not need to change speaker type with any of them.

• A:Answer I tried to do that with an iPod classic and it did not work. It seems the only option for direct (wired) connection is to use an RCA connection (old school red and white plugs) from the headphone jack to one of the analog inputs on the back. I believe this is also what the manual specifies. You could connect with airplay or over WiFi if you have a dock that does that-

Q: QuestionI have a Onkyo TX-NR676 hooked up to a Panasonic TC-P65ST30 TV with HDMI. When I turn on the TV the receiver turns on normally but it defaults to "TV Speaker" on the display and no sound (TV is muted). How do I disable "TV speaker" setting?

• A:Answer Not sure, but here is what google said: enable hotel mode by pressing, at the same time, the down volume button on the side of your tv and the 'tv' button on the remote 3 times. • A:Answer I think you might be mistaken, there is only a TX NR676 . I love this receiver. I think it sounds better than my old Sony but its 15yrs old. The Onkyo TX NR676 has all the connections for all of your devices and the sound is incredible. Have to by a new subwoffer it couldn't take the power.

• A:Answer The only video output is the HDMI. If the device has component output, connect that directly to the projector and then use the best available audio output of that device to connect to the AVR.

Q: QuestionI am trying to connect the Onkyo AV Receiver TX-NR676 to a Samsung 65" LED MU8000 series TV with the oneconnect. I have a Bose Soundtouch 300 soundbar already connected to the TV oneconnect. The TX-NR676 under initial setup will not detect the speakers.

• A:Answer Im not familiar with oneconnect but your sound bar needs to be connected to the receiver along with the tv being connected to the hdmi port on the receiver. If you trying to get it to notice the sound bar thru another means of connection, i dont thing it will work correctly.

• A:Answer If you're referring to 4K upscaling the answer is no - it doesn't upscale. We did find that it has improved the quality of the picture we're seeing on our Sony XBR 9000E 4K tv. This is purely subjective but the picture appears to be brighter and clearer. My wife has a Nintendo Switch and also noticed an improved picture for her games. Our primary usage is DirecTv and Roku and they both look better. I initially was running my signals through an Onkyo NR636 and noticed the difference when I replaced it with the NR676. I don't know if it will make a difference on your setup but it did help ours.

• A:Answer For the fire stick-I don’t have that The bose speakers have their own amp inside. If you hook them up you could blow up the amp inside the speaker.
