A:Answer Hi Gary,
You can't permanently turn off the fax part of the unit, however you can set it's main function. You can set the unit to it's TAM / FAX mode where the answering machine will pick up first always, and the fax part is the only seconds function.
So what would happen is that the answering is the first thing heard by anyone calling you, and if someone sends you a fax the machine can detect it and would activate the fax part right away.
