• A:Answer It automatically expands or condenses the effect. It always knows the number of LEDs on the strip and just maps the gradient to that length. Additionally: For the sync box/app, it always splits into 3 equal sections, no matter how it’s cut or extended For the “candle” effect, the little candle sections are a fixed length apart, so how many you get will depend on the total length of the strip

Q: QuestionCan this be used to extend the base strip that gives a TV border color? I plan to buy a sync box, base gradient light strip and hook up to my tv for movies and games. Longest strip available is for 80" TV, I have an 85" tv, would this be a solution?

• A:Answer I would say no, these are hard to curve around corners and would give an off look. You should purchase the Hue PLAY gradient. I don't think they make a 85 inch version but maybe get the 75 inch and install it closer to the center to get more length around the back of the tv.
