A:AnswerPhilo is supported on many devices and platforms, including the most popular streaming media players and web browsers. This link goes to the official Philo Help Center for more information on compatible devices: https://help.philo.com/using-philo/devices.
A:AnswerIf a show has aired and you did not record (aka: DVR) it either real time or by setting it up to record ahead of time, you can only watch it if: 1. It airs again live and you catch it the next time around. 2. It's available from the Philo video on-demand library, which has over 60K titles of programming available. Just look for a "VOD" icon on the show profiles. If it's available, you can watch these shows on demand. 60K titles is a lot, but that doesn't mean every show is available every time. Shows cycle in and out over time, so you need to stay on top of it. Also, South Park is awesome.
A:AnswerThere is a way to update payment method for PhiloTV after log-in to bestbuy.com. After log-in, click on the down arrow next to "Hi, your name/ID" on top center-right of screen. Then click on "Protection Plans & Subscriptions" and click "Update payment method" in the Manage your subscription block under Philo. I have not tried updating payment method, so I do not know how that works out.
A:AnswerNot sure how to answer because I've had Philo for almost 2 years and I started with them through a Best Buy promo that offered it free for the first 30 days of the service (once I created an account with Philo the clock started). It's probably the same offer terms now. Although Philo isn't a traditional cable service it's served my needs very well and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
A:AnswerLol no, it has absolutely nothing to do with Arlo or any other camera devices.
Philo is just a bonus side gift to use on your streaming devices, such as an Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku, Samsung or other smart TV as well as mobile devices. It is an alternative to basic cable TV whereas you'd use the internet to make this work as opposed to actual cable wired hook-ups from big companies such as Verizon Fi0s, Cablevision, Spectrum or whatever services one has in their respective area. You dont need a specialty company to come out ans set this up for you. You simply download the Philo application to your device and follow the steps to login and begin watching TV.
Little late but hope that answer helps anyone else who may be unfamiliar with this service.
A:AnswerYes you can subscribe to Philo on your own. Just go directly to their website. The relationship with Best Buy is a free trial when you make a certain purchase at Best Buy, like a Firestick or some other related merchandise. The hope from Philo is that you will continue to keep the subscription. If you take the free trial through Best Buy your monthly subscription renewal will remain attached to your Best Buy account and automatically paid through the payment method you gave at free trial sign up. If you want to discontinue at any time, you can do it through your Best Buy account.
A:AnswerIf the Tv is a Smart Tv, depending on the make you'll have different ways to access applications. Roku TV are the easiest. Samsung, LG and others have specific App areas and may need to refer to their instruction manuel. Basically, you'll need to add the Philo app to the TV and then launch it.
A:AnswerI am pretty sure it is one month for 1$ and then it renews for 20$ a month. I think you are getting confused because when you open the philo app they offer a 7 day trial . You arent going to use that, you are going to create an account thru best buy and log in to the philo app with that information. After u have created a username and pw thru the best buy email link for your philo account and free trial, then open the philo app and tap "log in" you will begin using philo with the best buy account you created and the 30 day trial for 1$. I hope that helps!
A:AnswerYes, Philo does not stream your local channels available from major national broadcast networks such as ABC, CBS, Fox or NBC. So, in order to receive these channels for free over-the-air, you need an appropriately sized and positioned indoor/outdoor antenna.
