It is an Am/Fm tuner that has internet radio capabilities. It also plays Pandora Spotify and you can register online radio stations you would like to listen to through an online web sight through Pioneer. It reproduces the sound of your cable, dvd/blu ray player computer and virtually the sound of anything with an hdmi cable output to play through your stereo system speaker set up.
