A:Answer Sure, Those are really inefficient speakers but this receiver will probably produce 15-17 W/Channel RMS. That will do it. BTW.......look at Klipsch horn loaded speakers. They are too bright for my tastes or Vintage speakers such as Altec, Pioneer HPM series, ect. See Ebay or Audiogon.com. Remember tube amps which sound MUCH warmer and have a far better stage than solid state amps are much lower power so the speakers were much more efficient up until the mid 80's. It is weird the receivers in the mid to late 70's put out massive power 125W/channelRMS to 165 watts/channel RMS were common but many vendors still produced beautiful sounding efficient speakers. In the mid 80's they started producing polypropylene cones (cheap plastic) started coming out. They looked cool and new but weighed a lot so they needed lots of power. All of my speakers are 96DB/W and up. High quality paper cones are VERY rigid and very light.
