You will need an external amp if you want to bi-amp. There are only 9.2 channels of amplification no matter how you split them up so the most you could run is 5.2.4 if you want 4 Atmos speakers. You may be able to bi-amp if you run 5.2.2, not sure though. There are wiring diagrams of many different setups in the manual you can download from Pioneer's website that would take you through wiring setup.
