Most rewarding receiver for the money. Tons of options to please all senses. Ease of use and comes with a download able app. I have had much pricier receivers but this is bar none the most bang for the buck.

Great automated fetures and fun to use. Sets up volume levels of speakers for you. You can set up your equipment from your pc after having plugged in your components and it lets you know where to plug in everything. It reminds me of useing an income tax software giving help along the way. What a great sound it has for a finiky person like me. This is the best yet.

I have owned a couple of Denons & Onkyo, but I ALWAYS come back to Pioneer Elite. First of all, this receiver has the true Dolby atmos, with 4 height speakers, not just 2 like a lot of entry level atmos receivers. This thing is a beast, the Onkyo and pioneer merger to me has brought a better product line for 2016. It's packed with features, and fully future proof with dts:x and the hdmi 2.2. You will here people complain that only 3 of the 8 HDMI ports are 2.2 4K compliant, as the Denon 4000 series & up have all ports compatible, but come on people, how many 4K sources do you have? I can see a TV, UHD Bluray, but that's about it. And if, and a LONG time before we see cable boxes outputting in 4K, all tv networks buying new 4K cameras and equipment for true 4K, it's not of concern for my situation. The power on this is rated at 135w over 8ohm load. It's powerful, very powerful. This class D amp is more than capable of pushing 4ohm loads which there aren't many receivers that can. This unit also looks amazing, sitting next to the Denon or God ugly Onkyo it really stands out (not that you are buying this for the looks). Pioneers highest end receivers are this SC line. It is the lowest of the 3, but if you compare they aren't much different, really not worth the extra thousand on the top top model. The vsx series I would definitely say is mid-grade receivers. The remote is very plain but usable. The Phone app for control is really nice. Works really well and very convenient controlling on my iPad or phone. Makes the remote seem archaic. MCAAC is more high end on the SC line, and compared to Audyssey, I honestly don't see a difference. In no way do I believe it is inferior to Audyssey. It calibrates the speakers exceptionally well, I only upped the sub a few notches but for personal taste. Bottom line, this will make your speakers come to life, something to be experienced. You will not be disappointed with this receiver. It will do everything you can think of and more.

I'm definitely one of those individuals who researches to the point of excess yet it usually pays off. In this case it did without any doubt. My current configuration is a 5.2 set up yet I'm planning on upgrading to a 5.2.4 Atmos configuration. The set up was relatively simple and the results after running the MCACC calibration is phenomenal The sound field that this receiver produces is second to none at this price point. The Class D amplifier is efficient and produces exceptional results whether your listening to music or your favorite Bluray. I don't think I can say it enough if you purchase this receiver you will NOT be disappointed. Happy listening.

I upgraded from the Elite SC-25 to the SC-95 because the old Elite was having handshake issues with HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2. The SC-95 has every feature you can imagine and then some. The Dolby Atmos sounds great with my Def Tech speakers. The receiver is also going to get the upgrade to DTS X once it's released adding even more dimension to the sound. Configured my SC-95 to do all the upscaling, taking the load off my TV's CPUs and everything looks so sharp. Highly recommend the iControlAV5 app to help configure your setup.

Sound characteristics are great, the unit never gets hot and I can play my music and movies as loud as the ears can withstand and this receiver never breaks a sweat. 2 channel stereo is awesome as well as multi channel listening. This will last me years to come. Just waiting on the dts x firmware upgrade to give it a try but love atmos and love the sound quality music seems more alive when listening to my albums or sacd's

I am an Audiophile, but tbhis to replace an onkyo unit in my office that I enjoyed for a few years. At teh becoming I was really not attracted by any Pioneer products so I never purchased one, this been the first one.
When I installed it did not do anythng for me at all, sounded flat, basically awfull. I went thru the set up thru the Mcacc pro twice, still was not satisfied, took me a wqhile to get it to sound as I wanted.
I drive a full set of Definitive technologies, front 8070, souround 8020 and back pro800.
Now I realize it sounds very well and for the monty it is a very good unit.

I have a Pioneer VSX-80 which i would use to power two large tower speakers. Either Martin Logan Theos, or B&W CM9s. I would listen to music in a 2.0 scenario. When it would get to -10 it would always overheat. So I upgraded to the SC_95. I would blast music and it always stayed nice and cool. the down side it aways felt like it had streaming issues. Which is super annoying. Honestly I'd say if you just watch TV or games go for it. But if you stream audio like someone who lives in 2017. I'm not sure.

The power behind it seems good so far. I run a 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos setup with external amps for the front speakers and the subwoofers. Setup was ok, the manual is not very clear and I'm pretty good at HT setups.
I was hesitant on pioneer, but for a 11 channel (w/external amp) flagship model, the price was the best out there. I'd still wait for a drop as this is newer technology. I Love it, but had to have it day one.
The promised DTS:X firmware hasn't been developed yet which was part of why i choose this model. Pioneer said "by the end of the year" which doesn't seem likely (yes only one movie is encoded in DTS:X, but it is supposed to up convert any DTS-HD)

I updated my old Pioneer Elite 84txsi with the SC-95, and I can't believe how much of a sonic improvement it is. The room/speaker setup was easy and the receiver was able to correctly determine distance to each speaker to within 1/2". The rear surrounds can be clearly heard even at low volume. Dolby and DTS surround sound is amazing. I'm not using Atmos at this time due to cost of Atmos speakers, but might try using my old RTR's as ceiling speakers. Hooked up a friends Pono and the definition from the system listening to higher bit rate recordings was mind blowing.

Outstanding receiver that improved overall picture and sound. Atmos is incredible and Pioneer elite couples an Ipad AVR app that turns your ipad into a large fully capable remote with over the top graphics. It helps you understand the capabilities of the unit far easier than the manual. This unit has several speaker setups available. I used the 7.2.4 and noticed the amazing difference with a second subwoofer and 4 ceiling mounted high quality speakers available from Magnolia. Outstanding product.

This is the model with all the abilities you want and it is very well 'future proofed' so I don't end up not being able to enjoy new technologies as they come along. It does everything very well and is effortless to use once you've set up all your preferenceces. I waited many years before I finally could afford it and I consider every dollar well spent. I also have Definative Tech speakers that are self powered so with this receiver I have loads of power I'll likely never begin to max out!

I love this receiver. It has a lot of clean power. Although it is confusing with all of the different options, I have never heard better sound with my existing equipment. With the auto room correction software, this receiver should sound good wherever you put it.

I had an older SC-05 that I was looking to upgrade from and came across this one as an open box. The set up was easy with the new improved interface, the features like airplay and multi-zone are awesome but the sound quality is what drew me back to the Elite family. It makes my B&W speakers sing. I'm glad that I made the move.

Needed a receiver for my home entertainment system that would allow for three zones. House that we bought was pre-wired for three zones and needed a receiver that could handle that. This receiver works well and the Pioneer App allows for easy control of the receiver using my wifes Ipad or my android smart phone. We can now both control the system without needing to have the actual remote.
