• A:Answer Yes. Just need a 2.5" mounting bracket. The cable ends should be the same. May mount without a bracket. Just have to see what the mounts in your case offers.

• A:Answer Not sure about your laptop, go to the HP support website and look up that specific machine and see if it's compatible. This SSD uses standard data connectors. I can tell you that I swapped this model into an older PC that I was selling and it worked perfectly fine. Clean install of Windows 10 and it was good to go.

• A:Answer No software included. I’ve used every cloning program in my repair shop. Sometimes they work, most times the drive won’t boot from the clone. Grab a copy of Macrium Reflect, select clone. The trick is to drag n drop the partitions before the windows partition to the destination, next drag n drop the Windows partition and shrink it, next drag n drop the remaining partitions and float them right, last click on the windows partition and select Fill remaining space. now click Finish. This ensures the non-windows partitions are the exact size as those on the source. some auto cloning software gets this wrong causing the news. ssd drive to fail to boot If you decide to clean install instead, create a bootable usb windows installer. During install choose I don’t have a license key. After installation windows will re-activate using a digital license.

• A:Answer Yes it should. That machine should have an HDD drive. To confirm this, pop open the case and you should see a 4 in wide by 5.8 inch long hard drive. Not only will it fit, it will take up a lot less space. They sell adaptors to put the smaller drive in the larger drive space. You could also just put the drive in the case in a way that it can't move around (and its wires can't reach the cpu fan). You could also a wire tie (the twist kind, don't use zip ties cause taking them back off require cutting, snipping!), or a velcro wire tie and affix the power or data wire (or both) that plug into the drive on a fixed portion of the case, preventing the drive from moving.
