It comes with only 1 battery that gives you about 7 minutes of flight time. Batteries are like $9 from ProtocolNY, the manufacturer. It is fairly easy to fly. You really have to be careful with wind outside. I'm not sure about the 9 year old kid part. lol

It was an extremely easy drone to fly and it is pretty durable when it’s crashed. I let my 6 year old daughter fly ours on occasion.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It doesnt have an extra battery, but you should get one. And the younger they start flying, the better they will get. Plus this one is really easy to fly, so I think it will be fine for a 9 year old. It’s kind of big for a drone, so make sure the propeller protectors stay on if they fly inside.
