Depending on the individual, line of sight is required by federal law. For me this is about 1/4 mile, and this is accomplished. Objects of obstruction will hinder the signal and line of sight. Be sure to check local ordinances when using, but start at a large field or location you can test first, and READ THE MANUAL. Always remember the 400 foot height restrictions as well.
