- Answer As for sound profile they are pretty close ( this one is maybe a little brighter, but that might be because of the pop filter).. But access to RODE suite of software RØDE Central, RØDE Connect, RØDE Capture and UNIFY,make it worth he extra $100.00. Unless you already have have an audio interface with routing capability.. Go with this one..

QuestionWill this mic work out-of-frame when recording talking-head videos (video lectures)? I realize it is a dynamic mic and less sensitive, but my MV7 mic had an auto-gain setting that allowed it to work fine when positioned just outside of the video frame.

- Answer That Is the RODE DS1 tabletop stand.. I don't think It is sold at Best Buy.. But they do sell the RODE PSA1+ a a table mounted mic boom arm.. The POD Mic Usb is quite heavy compared to most microphones So pay extra for a well made mic stand..
