QuestionI want to use this at an apt where I would be using the wifi of my tenant.I assume as long as I register the device to my ring subscription then it does not matter that I am not using a wifi that I "own", but I will be able to see the device on my phone?

- Answer That’s a tricky question. When you first install and get the app you need the WiFi no matter what. Ring only works with WiFi, that’s how it stays on to monitor. Point is, you need WiFi to make the ring work. Without WiFi it won’t catch anything.

QuestionIs ring easy to setup? I recently got a Roku and doesn't connect to my Tmobile white home internet it is set to 2.4Ghz I have a linksys wifi router as well. I need help I hope ring has good CS and easy to set up.

- Answer Mine is hooked up to my front porch light. Its electric so you dont have to charge it. Just leave your light switch on. It gives you instructions to program it to the wifi

QuestionI have an apartment house. Can i set this up to tenant WIFI with their permission. Then can other tenants download the app to view the camera images only. Only the tenant with the wifi could make changes to the app.

QuestionSomewhere in one of your info pages it says optimum, above ground height, to be 9 ft. I’m replacing an old floodlight 14 ft height. How much sensing distance, sensing angle, in general, what %age of optimum performance I’ll lose at 14ft. ?? Thank you.

- Answer Hi Pelotero. Thanks for asking. You are correct; the optimal mounting height is recommended to be 9 feet. The distance at which your device detects motion will vary depending on a number of factors. Because every home environment is different, we would be unable to specify this information. While every situation is different and your individual needs will determine where best to setup your cameras, your Ring camera sensors are better at catching movement if they’re traveling horizontally across the camera’s field of view. People traveling directly toward or away from the camera may not trigger a motion alert as quickly. - Answer The geek squad recommended me to connect all ring devices on 2.4 GHz as opposed to any other band(with tri and quad bands available these days) because that is the most stable/sturdy network known.
