No, the Ring Hardwired Kit for Spotlight Cam is a package of tools and parts that allows you to hardwire your Ring Spotlight Cam wired directly into an electrical box instead of a regular outlet for consistent power delivery. Ring floodlight cameras require a wifi connection. They do not have the option of power over Ethernet. Q: QuestionIf I use this kit and wire up to a switched 110 VAC house line will I be able to turn the flood lights on and off with the switch?

• A:Answer Hi Robert. Thank you for your question! We don't recommend using a light switch if your Ring device is connected to it. When you remove power from the device for long periods of time it can lose connection to your home wifi. When the device is powered back on without a connection it will enter setup mode. In setup mode the lights will flash to show it's ready to be setup. If any additional information is needed regarding your Ring devices please reach out to our community. Q: QuestionDoes the Kit include a transformer or not? The price of the item would suggest that a transformer is included, but since there are no photos, I can't confirm. The "answer" that Bill got from Ring did not remotely give adequate info to confirm yes or no.

• A:Answer The correct answer to this question is "Yes". The mount includes the transformer so you can connect it directly to the wiring in your home. I have no idea how someone from Ring does not know the answer to that question.
