• A:Answer The plug-in does not include batteries. You can buy batteries and you only need 1 battery but there’s space for 2. It doesn’t appear that you can enable the camera to run off it in a backup scenario. So it may be a waste of $35.

Q: QuestionCan the Spotlight on the Ring - Spotlight Cam Plus Outdoor/Indoor 1080p Plug-In Surveillance Camera be set to turn off during the day and turned on at night? Also if the Spotlight is turned off, will the surveillance camera still work?

• A:Answer Hi Parrot1. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us with your question. The Ring Spotlight Cam Plus was designed with customizable light and motion settings to be adjusted according to your needs. By default, the spotlight on the Ring Spotlight Cam Plus will only come on when it detects motion at night. The Light Settings tab on the device's page in the Ring app lets you control when your spotlight comes on. As long as the Motion Detection toggle is turned on, the camera will continue to record when motion is detected, even if the lights are turned off. Q: QuestionI need a indoor security camera that can monitor outside my windows without having to install it outside. Does Ring have window cameras or one that can be aimed at the window from the inside to monitor the windows?

If placing a Ring camera inside facing a window or glass, the camera may have a hard time detecting motion and you may get distorted images at night. To get proper motion detection, cameras should not be placed facing a window or in front of a glass door. Yes, the Ring Spotlight Cam Plus can be powered with a Ring Quick Release Battery Pack and is designed with two battery spots to increase powered time. This version of the Ring Spotlight Cam Plus is the Plug-in version which means it will come with a power cord and will not include a battery pack, it will still have slots for two batteries to be purchased separately.
