  • Questionif you set the indoor camera on a windowsill inside and aim it to monitor outside not inside will that work or not and will it be clear to see and how big an area will it cover monitoring outside

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hello. We appreciate the time you have taken to ask this question. Yes, the Ring Indoor Cam can be installed on a windowsill pointing outside. However, the camera may have a hard time detecting motion and you may get distorted images at night. To get proper motion detection, cameras should not be placed facing a window or in front of a glass door. • QuestionHow difficult is installation for me to perform?

    Asked by Barbi.

    • Answer Just replace the old doorbell with the ring camera. There is a template as you will have to drill 4 pilot holes that will not match up with a traditional door bell push button.

  • QuestionHow long do batteries normally last?

    Asked by Suz.

    • Answer Hello Suz. Thank you for reaching out! To answer your question, battery life is based more accurately on the number of events rather than the amount of time that passes between charges. While batteries in Ring devices can last for a month or more with normal use, there are several factors that may impact battery life. Those things include, but are not limited to, weather conditions, and increased activity. I have included a help article that provides additional details on what factors may impact battery life, and how to aid in ensuring you get the most out of your battery: https://ring.com/support/articles/0ot3t/Battery-Powered-Ring-Cameras-and-Cold-Weather.
