Yes it will it's battery powered, my suggestion buy a extra battery that way you will not lose your connection.

If you're given permission to install it in your apartment you would need to screw a couple of screws on the wall outside for the mount. You will be running on battery power which should last you for a while depending on how frequent you get visitors at your door, check your live view, and etc. If you want to be notified on the inside when the doorbell is rung without the use of a smartphone you may want to look for a ring chime. It's just a simple device that's not included with the Ring 2 that plugs into the wall outlet. It will make a chime alert when someone is ringing your doorbell since you don't have a pre-existing one. Hope that helps.
