Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought the Ring 2. It has a battery in it, but once hardwired it l keeps the battery charged. My recommendation would be to completely charge it before installing it. Keep in mind, the hardwire for the doorbell is low voltage so it will charge the battery very slow if the camera is used a lot in the beginning. However, once it is charged and installed, its a perfect trickle charger setup.
