I was told by a sales associate you will still have to change out the battery. It's does not matter if it is hard wired or not. I was thinking the same as you, but battery life can last up to six months I was told. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I chose the ring 2 with rechargeable battery doesn't have options to hard wire. This is a great choice!! I was little optimistic with battery is a lithium battery holds a charge up to a month not a problem changing out is easy access and I bought a extra battery to change out and charge. The ring pro you can hard wire it to your existing door bell just remove old door bell and connect wires follow wiring illustration instructions.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was able to use the existing wires as I just replaced an old door bell. I still charged the battery as it helps with the Video.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I did not hard wire my doorbell. My older house (built in the 70's) did not have enough voltage to power the camera when I hard wired so I decided to just run off the battery. Your best bet is to contact the authorized Nest installer and the will do the wiring. I decided not to have them come out in upgrade my wiring and cost me another $200 dollars.
