• The short answer is yes but... you can wire it to the existing wiring but it always uses the battery. The power coming from the existing wiring trickle charges the battery. Note that the battery power is consumed faster than it is charged.

• Yes, it works with existing wired mechanical or electronic doorbells. A basic manual with wiring instructions is included in the box.

• It does, or you can go wireless. I don't have wiring at my house for a doorbell so I bought this for it's wireless capabilities.

• Yes, but it can be complicated. May require diode, transformer. Helpful if you understand basic low voltage wiring.
