The key difference is how it is connected. The Ring Pro connects into your current doorbells power and is slimmer as a result, where the Ring is bulky by comparison and powered off a battery pack. Please try again later.The doorbell is the same...the Chime Pro is just an extra piece that you can plug in somewhere else in the house for extended coverage (I put mine in the basement where it's hard to hear the doorbell sometimes...turns out this is unnecessary as the Ring app alerts me to anyone at the door, anyways). I guess it might be useful for anyone else in your house that doesn't have the app on their phone (someone house-sitting for you, etc).
